Forex Options Trading – What is Forex? (Part 1 of 2)
Forex or FX or foreign exchange is the buying and selling of one currency against another currency. Always are traded in pairs, for example EUR / USD, USD / JPY. So when you are buying dollars Euro (EUR), which also are selling dollars U.S. (USD) in exchange for dollars to euros. If you want to buy U.S. dollars Then you sell the dollar against the euro for the purchase of dollars USA.
An example we often find is when we travel abroad and need to change the local currency to the currency foreign destination and way to the local forex trader, the bank to buy foreign currency. It is a good example that we are familiar.
For buying and selling currencies in the changer of money or the bank and we are participating in this great foreign exchange market. Banks and central banks, investment funds, hedge funds, exporters and importers, firms and retailers of currencies are among the key participants in the Forex Market.
Commercial banks to generate profits and also act as buyers and sellers of a currency against another for customers in trade and commercial transactions. While central banks buy and sell currencies to maintain reserves and protect the reserves. They also act to moderate your country currency strength to provide reasonable terms of trade in international markets for their exports and imports.
Investment funds are a percentage of their portfolio in the foreign exchange market for many reasons such as diversification, coverage, etc. Although most hedge funds to speculate on currencies as it is the world's largest market, so it can accommodate its large traffic it's pretty hard to do in the futures market or stock.
